The Japanese shipping line Ocean Network Express (ONE) was due to start an enhanced North Sea Baltic Service with Russia and Finland, connecting with its Europe-Asia service.
Using four 2,500 teu capacity ships, the new network will improve transit times and boost reliability.
The improved service was due to inaugurate a direct call at the Petrolesport Terminal in St Petersburg as well as calling at current Container Terminal St Petersburg.
The service was also to provide a direct connection between the Finnish ports of Helsinki and Kotka and the ports of Antwerp and Rotterdam. ONE said the port rotation was to be: Antwerp, Rotterdam, St. Petersburg (both terminals), Helsinki, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Helsinki, Kotka and Antwerp.
