The fifth magenta-coloured new container ship, the ONE Grus was handed over to the Ocean Network Express (ONE) group in January by the Kure Shipyard of the Japan Marine United Corporation.
Owned by the Japanese line Nippon Yusen Kaisha, the new ship phased in THE Alliance’s Asia to Europe service, which has a port rotation of Laem Chabang, Cai Mep, Singapore, Colombo, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Southampton, Jeddah, Colombo, Singapore and Laem Chabang.
Of 138,611dwt and 14,052 teu, the ONE Grus is 364.15m long, with a beam of 50.6m, a depth of 29.5m, and a full draft of 15.8m.
The ONE Grus is equipped with structural crack arrest technology to boost its structural safetyand a hull form that improves cargo loading efficiency by minimising engine room space.
The navigation bridge has adopted the Integrated Navigation System, which consolidates the functions of the ship’s systems and in a safety improvement, a wide window increases visibility for crew in the wing of the bridge when berthing or undocking.
